Enrichment and Clubs
At Orion Spires, we are committed to providing a rich and varied programme of enrichment opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom. Our extensive offer reflects our core values of Trust, Kindness and Endeavour, while also supporting the development of students’ cultural capital.
We are proud to offer a wide range of clubs, generously led by staff at lunchtime and after school. Currently, students can access over 40 lunchtime clubs each week, alongside a diverse after-school provision. Opportunities are available across Key Stages 3 and 4, including sporting activities, subject-specific support and extension, creative arts, music, choir, chess, and library-based activities. This breadth ensures that all students can find something that inspires and engages them.
We view enrichment as an integral part of the five-year journey at Orion Spires, with opportunities available from Year 7 through to Year 11. Our programme is designed to broaden horizons, nurture talents and equip students with valuable skills and experiences that support their future pathways.
A key feature of our offer is our Elite Squads, which provide students with the opportunity to develop excellence in specific disciplines. Current squads include:
- Chefs
- Dance
- Drama
- Equestrian
- Football
- Golf
- Gymnastics
- Music
Student voice is central to the ongoing development of our enrichment programme. We actively seek and respond to student feedback, introducing new clubs and opportunities wherever possible to reflect their interests and aspirations.
Through our enrichment offer, students build towards achieving the Student Promise, gaining a broad range of experiences through clubs, activities and educational visits. These opportunities play a vital role in developing confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.
